Lydia Ellen Pounds, 89, of Albany passed away on Friday, Dec. 18, at Timberview Care Center in Albany.
Lydia was born in Prospect, Ohio, to Pearl and Lucinda Fox. She grew up in Kilbourne, Ohio. She attended Brown School. She moved to Albany in April 2002.
During her adult life Lydia was a stay-at-home mother of two children.
Lydia married Delmar W. Pounds on April 16, 1946; Delmar passed away March 4, 2011.
Lydia was a member of the Grace Methodist Church in Delaware, Ohio, until moving to Inglewood, California, in 1963.
Lydia and Delmar enjoyed many years in California and many years retired RVing with friends until moving to Oregon in 2002 to be closer to their daughter Joyce. They were able to enjoy and participate in many family events.
Lydia enjoyed cooking, reading, sewing, knitting, gardening and peanut butter cups.
Lydia is survived by son Robert L. Pounds of Gualala, California; daughter Joyce E. Conn of Independence; granddaughter Michelle Hope of Salem; and great-granddaughter Amber Hope of Salem.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar; brothers David, Dewey and Joseph Fox; sisters Wanda Price and Ivadelle Simpson.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
