Lynda Ann HochApril 16, 1937 - August 25, 2007Heaven became a better place, and earth lost something special when Lynda Ann Hoch died Saturday, August 25th in Portland, Oregon. Words alone can't begin to describe how much her family and many friends will miss her.Lynda was born in Santa Anna, California to Marjory and Donald Hall. She grew up in Orange County, California, graduating from Santa Ana High School in 1955. Lynda attended Woodbury University in Los Angeles and graduated in 1957 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business.In 1957, Lynda married Harry Hoch, and the couple eventually settled in Claremont, California, where they raised four children. Along with being a loving mother and fantastic cook, Lynda worked at the Claremont Colleges as Assistant Director of Public Relations. Never one to sit still, she was also a very active in the community.Upon Harry's retirement, the couple moved to Albany, Oregon, where Lynda continued to keep a busy schedule. She worked for the Human Services Resources Institute, retiring in 2001. Lynda was an active member of the Albany Area Department 56 Delighters Club and was scorekeeper for St. Mary's church softball team. She later became an Officer of her Homeowners Association, which she managed to help keep organized despite traveling the world. Aside from visiting far-away places, she enjoyed cross stitch; crossword puzzles; reading; collecting pottery, lighted houses, and ceramic cardinals; gardening and sharing the house with her two cats. But Lynda's greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.Lynda is survived by her husband Harry of Albany, Oregon; daughter Lisa and husband Kirk Richardson also of Albany; sons Matt Hoch and wife Jenne of Chino, California; Marc Hoch and Jen Watson of Laguna Niguel, California; and Greg Hoch and wife Kim of Salida, Colorado; brothers Gail Hall of Lincoln, California; Lowell Cummings of Richardson, Texas; John Cummings of Newhall, California and their families. In addition Lynda will be missed by six loving grandchildren in California, Colorado, and Oregon.Family and friends will celebrate this angel's life on earth in her hometown of Santa Ana, Saturday, September 15th.
