Obituary

I couldn't help but feel that her passing brought heaven so close to us and made God's presence so real.
Maggie is survived by her four children, Joey, Denise, Kathy and Jimmy; as well as many relatives and friends. She had eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Her family, and her role as a wife, mother and grandmother, was the most important thing to her. This is where she drew her spiritual strength and left her legacy of love. This legacy is a wonderful example for all of us to follow. Her mantra was: "Keep focused on what is truly important, not only when life is easy, but when life is difficult too."
She passed away peacefully at Wynwood Assisted Living with her children lovingly at her side. We could hear the angels singing and as Ava Maria was playing the background, as her tears were flowing, she embraced our Lord and her husband of 57 years.
She married the love of her life, Joseph Lupo, on Nov. 7, 1953. Her family and friends had the honor of celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 7, 2003.
She will forever be remembered for her passion of life, gardening, her cooking, and the many gatherings at her home. The smell of her cooking will linger forever in our souls.
Maggie will be buried in Tucson, Arizona. Brings Funeral Home in Tucson, Arizona, is handling arrangements.
At Maggie's request, in lieu of flowers, she has asked to plant flowers in memory of her and her last request, "I am a woman of color. This is a celebration of my life. Please do not wear black!"
