Obituary

Margaret J. "Peg" Bridgeman, 73, of Albany passed away at home.
Peg was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Ralph and Elsie (Hancock) Jacobs.
She graduated from high school in Winter Park, Florida, and received her bachelor's in education from Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama. She lived in Florida, Virginia and Hawaii before moving to Albany in 1971. She worked as a teacher in Florida and for a time as a substitute teacher in Albany. She then worked for Lovelace Floral in Albany before retiring in 1996.
Peg married Oscar "Lee" Bridgeman on March 16, 1963.
Peg enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren, volunteering at church, traveling with Lee to various countries, snowbirding in Arizona, reading, oil painting, having fun and spending time with friends. She loved people and always had a smile on her face. She never met a stranger and never forgot your birthday.
Peg is survived by son David Bridgeman of Portland; daughter Diane and husband John Jendresen of Salem; daughter Debbie and husband Stan Ferguson of Albany; son Douglas Bridgeman of Marietta, Georgia; grandchildren Angela and David Martin of Salem, Erik Jendresen of Chicago, Illinois, April Jendresen of Issaquah, Washington, Theresa and Dan Brown of Oregon City, Hannah and Jordan Turner of Roswell, Georgia, and Aimee, Nate and Luke Bridgeman, all of Marietta; four great-grandchildren; brother Paul and wife Peggy Jacobs of Huntsville, Alabama; brother Steve Jacobs of Fayetteville, Georgia; and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson Robert Ferguson; and husband Lee.
A private burial will take place at Palestine Cemetery. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday May 30th, 2014 at Albany First Assembly of God.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Assembly of God Missions Fund, Samaritan Evergreen Hospice, the Albany Carousel Project or SafeHaven Humane Society.
