Marian Francis Shearer, 92, of Albany passed away on Sunday at Regency of Albany.
Marian was born in Fairview, Okla., to Coleman and Maggie (Mills) Montgomery. She grew up in Fairview and married Woodrow "Woody" Wilson in 1936 and they had two sons: Duane and Alvin. In 1944 they came to Oregon and settled in Oakridge in 1950. He went to work for the Linn County Sheriffs Office then later went to work for Albany Police Department, and then was hired as the police chief in Junction City. He was killed in the line of duty on Dec. 26, 1960.
Marian married John Shearer in 1974. He preceded her in death in 1996. Her son Alvin preceded her in death in 1984 and Duane preceded her in death in 2001. She attended church in Cottage Grove and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed Bingo, crocheting, crossword puzzles, reading and doing crafts.
Marian is survived by grandsons Lesley Whetstone and Curtis Whetstone, both of Albany; granddaughter Tina Reisner of Gladstone; seven great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, sons and granddaughter Deanna Bissonette.
A visitation will be at the funeral home from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2.
