Marie Rita "Mary" Webb-Bowen, 90, of Albany died Aug. 22.
She was born in Trenton, New Jersey, to Sarah and John Clare. She was a veteran of World War II. She met her husband of 62 years, Webb, at the Navy base in Grossille, Michigan, where they were both stationed. They moved to his home state in Oregon in 1947.
Mary served as office manager and bookkeeper for the petroleum distribution centers Webb operated. She retired from Webb-Bowen Oil in Klamath Falls in 1988.
She loved knitting, crocheting and playing the piano and organ. She started piano lessons at age 50 and progressed to the point where she could be certified as an instructor. She and Webb loved snowmobiling. They continued to cross country snowmobile well into their 70s.
She is survived by son Ken Webb-Bowenand wife Linda; daughters Sharon Woodburn and husband Roger, and Barbara Boyesen; grandsons Todd Webb-Bowen and wife Candice, Craig Webb-Bowen, and Michael Woodburn and wife Angie; granddaughters Kristen Pauk and husband Ben, Danae Austenfeld and husband Eric, and Sarah Kohler; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, O.C. Webb-Bowen; mother Sarah O'Donnell; stepfather William O'Donnell; father John Clare; and sister Dorothy Wehrle.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albany with an inurnment to follow at 3 p.m. at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mary's Place at the Mennonite Village or Benton Hospice in care of the funeral home.
