Obituary

Marvin Lee McCartney, 82, of Albany passed away on Wednesday at the Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House.
Marvin was born in Cheyenne, Wyo., to George Washington and Mary Cordiela (Logan) McCartney. He served honorably in the Army Air Force and met Arnetta Bryant at a dance at Tinker Air Force Base; they were soon married and celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on Dec. 27, 2005. Arnetta passed away on Feb. 22, 2006.
Marvin and Arnetta together built their home and many other homes in the Albany area. Marvin was a general contractor and also sold real estate.
Marvin is survived by his daughters Marlis Lee Adamson of Albany and Katrice Bennett; son Daniel McCartney of Casa Grande, Ariz.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Lewis I. McCartney; and sisters Lucille Hixson and Leila Wright.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at Palestine Cemetery with full military honors.
