Marvin "Pete" W. HicksSept. 3, 1917 - June 23, 2009Marvin "Pete" W. Hicks, 91, of Jefferson passed away Tuesday at his home.He was born in Brookings, S.D., the son of Amos and Stena (Preussler) Hicks.  He was raised in South Dakota and married Elenora H. Leisinger on Dec. 22, 1948, and they farmed in the White, S.D., area and Pete and his brother ran  Hicks Implement a John Deere dealer until moving to Lebanon in 1968.  They owned and operated the Cascades City Center Motel until retiring to the Jefferson area in the late 1980s.  Pete was a former member of North Albany Baptist Church and enjoyed music.He is survived by sons Gary and Roger of Jefferson, and Bryce of Gervis; sister Grace Hakinson of Brookings, S.D.; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Jefferson Baptist Church.  Memorial contributions may be made to Jennie's School Sierra Leone Missions in care of Jefferson Baptist Church, P.O.
