Mary R. GerigJuly 11, 1919 - Aug. 4, 2007Mary Rebecca Gerig, 88, of Albany died Saturday of natural causes. Mary was born in Wayland, Iowa, to Martin C. and Emma (Nofziger) Gerig. She grew up there then spent most of her working life in Sarasota, FL. She moved to Albany, OR in the 1980's to be near family.Survivors include siblings Emmanuel Gerig of Corvallis, Frances Yutzy of Iowa City, Iowa, Minnie Chaffee of Archibald, Ohio, Allen Gerig of Winfield, Iowa, Laverne Gerig of South Bend, Indiana; and Elmer Gerig and Willard Gerig both of Albany. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Elsie, Emery and Melvin Gerig and Mable Miller.Visitation will be Monday the 6th from 5 to 7 pm at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home.Funeral will be 10:00 am Tuesday, August 7 at Fairview Mennonite Church with burial following and the Fairview Mennonite Cemetery.
