Mary Agnes Martin
Aug. 19, 1926 - March 30, 2014
Mary A. Martin, 87, passed away Sunday at the Evergreen Hospice House in Albany with her husband, Jack, and niece Joanie Grossman at her side.
Mary was born in San Francisco to parents Peter and Mary Sunseri. She attended schools in San Francisco. After graduation she spent a year in Arkansas then moved back to the bay area.
She met Tom Lindley and they moved to Ukiah, Calif., and for the next 54 years worked at various jobs including attendance clerk at the high school. Mary was always interested in local civic affairs and in 2002 decided to run for city council, she lost that election by 36 votes. She met her current husband, Jack Martin, in 2003 and they married July 19, 2003. The couple moved to Oregon in 2005.
Mary loved to dance and travel. She took a trip to Sicily, Italy, to visit where her father was born.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Helen.
A celebration of Mary's life will be announced at a later time.
