Obituary

Mary Jean Warner, 88, of Albany passed away Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Samaritan Albany General Hospital.

Mary was born in Village of Altona, Ill., to Edwin and Jennie (Andrews) Lofgren. She received her education from the Business College in Chicago. She entertained and supported USO troops in 1941 in Chicago, and made the first commercial with Bon Ami.

In 1944 she married Willard Bolton. Then in 1975 she married Kenneth Warner in Las Vegas, he passed away in 1981. She spent 37 years at Aerojet General Aerospace as an executive secretary for the vice president.

She lived in Fort Lauderdale for a time but spent most of her life in California until she moved to Albany in 1990 to be near her daughter and grandchildren.

Mary enjoyed bowling, trips to the casino and traveling. She traveled yearly to Illinois and also to Texas to visit her son, as well as Cupertino, Calif., to visit family. She bowled for over 50 years, was a member of the Bowling association, and AMF where she served as an officer and volunteer; she also served on the board at Alterra Village.

She was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Glenn Bolton in 1974; sisters Grace Thielk and Charlotte Wolfe; and brother Bud Lofgren.

Mary is survived by her sister, Margaret Barnes; daughter Sharon Swaney-Gonzalez; grandchildren Kirk Swaney and Shannon Swaney; great-grandchildren Rachelle Haines, Tia Swaney, Evan Swaney, Faith Swaney and Sean Swaney.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Eastside Christian Church on Grand Prairie Road in Albany.
