Obituary

Maxine Jacqueline Craven

April 10, 1919 - May 17, 2011

Maxine Jacqueline Craven, 92, of Albany died May 17.

Maxine was born in Wichita, Kan., to Earl and Fonnie Lillian Osborne Hopkins. The family moved to Anaheim, Calif., in 1921. Earl was a barber there for the rest of his life.

Maxine married Roderick W. Craven, May 7, 1939, in Anaheim and moved to Big Bear Lake, Calif., in 1945, where they owned and operated Cravens's Cabinet Shop and Building Materials until 1966. After retirement, as self-supporting missionaries, they built "A" frame churches in the Philippines for three years through Oriental Missionary Crusade.

Maxine is survived by her sister, Dixylee D. Horner; three daughters, Sharron D. Craven-Bell, Karron E. Harries and Jill J. Hendricks and husband Lynn E. Hendricks; four granddaughters, Holly G. Harries, Denise R. Gardner, JoDee A. Forrest-Divelbess and Amy S. Welling, their husbands; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Foreign Missions in care of First Assemby of God, Albany, or Cystic Fibrosis Research in care of Doernbecher Childrens's Hospital, Portland.

Maxine's ashes will be buried alongside her sweetheart and beloved husband at Powell Cemetery in a private celebration of her long life. She didn't know when she would go to heaven, but did her best to follow God's lead.

"To God be the Glory."
