Maxine Cara Rowe Lee passed away peacefully at her home on January 12, 2025, at the age of 87 in Albany, Oregon. Born on January 4, 1938, in Alexander, Maine, Maxine's life was filled with love, adventure, and a deep commitment to her family and community. Her boundless curiosity, fierce work ethic, and courage to embrace new beginnings defined her journey.
Professionally, Maxine's 35 year career at Georgia Pacific included being a Training Director in Toledo Oregon, and she proudly served on the Oregon State Apprenticeship Board, driven by her passion for helping others Her fearless nature was evident when she relocated her family from Maine to Oregon, The cross-country trek of 3,000 miles with children in tow highlighted Maxine's ability to turn challenges into cherished memories, and her determination to provide the best for her family.
Her creative spirit shone through her beadwork, quilting, and knitting. Her creative works were not only a source of personal joy but also tokens of love shared with family and friends. Maxine found great joy in simple pleasures like gardening, the magic of hummingbirds at her feeders, and the laughter of children. She cherished nature and camping trips with her children and grandchildren were among her most treasured experiences. In her later years, Maxine delved into the world of genealogy, meticulously tracing the roots of her family tree. Maxine's legacy is carried on by her loving children, Paul Alexander Lee, Catherine Diane Lee, and Michael Jonathan Lee, and her cherished grandchildren, Jordan Ehwaz, Todd Norberg, and Sydney Knudsen. She is warmly remembered by her siblings, Leroy Arthur Rowe, Forrest Cecil Rowe, James Gilbert Rowe, Catherine Ann Rowe Dalton, and Alexine Pike Rowe Markowski. Maxine was preceded in death by her sister, Pamela Rowe Mackay. Her extended family, including many cousins, nieces, and nephews, will continue to honor her memory. Maxine's life was a beacon of inspiration, embracing change, nurturing growth, and celebrating the beauty of the world. Her beautiful smile, unwavering strength, generosity, and love will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Maxine Cara Rowe Lee's story is one of a life well-lived, filled with moments of joy, adventure, and an enduring love for her family. Her spirit will forever be woven into the fabric of the lives she touched.
