Melba Hosack, 91, of Albany died Friday at her home.
She was born in Suisun City, Calif., to her parents Abner and Lyda (Waters) Crane. She completed a year of college and worked for a short time as a dental assistant. On Dec. 17, 1939, she married Robert Hosack in Westminster, Calif.
Melba loved camping, hiking, gardening and anything to do with the out of doors. She and Bob enjoyed walking and having lunch in the mall, meeting old and new friends along the way. Even in her failing health, it was important to her to see her friends and be with family.
She will be remembered for her loving nature, an easy smile and her great love for her family. She will be missed by all who came to know this wonderful and gentle soul.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband of 65 years.
Surviving her are two children, Robert Hosack and Shirley Smith, both of Albany; as well as four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to give to a charity of your choice.
