Michael H. Kinney, 65, an extraordinary man, left this world on Thursday. His wife, Wanda Kinney, lost her soul mate and best friend. His four daughters - April, Michelle, Makayla and Melinda - lost their confidant and father. His nine grandchildren lost the best story teller and mentor on earth.
He left behind his mother, Myrle Kinney; and two brothers, Reed and Gary, and their families. He had an abundance of friends and family who can each give many reasons why Michael made the world a better place to live. Anybody connected to him can attest to his knack for giving expert advice and support.
He retired from the Army serving in Vietnam. He was also passionately involved in Albany Area Habitat for Humanity serving on the board of directors in addition to co-founding their local ReStore. Michael was very active in the community, the life of the party and was loved by everyone who knew him. He loved nature and the outdoors and will forever be remembered as floating down the river at Yellow Creek.
Michael requested that there not be a formal service, however, in the near future a celebration-of-life party in his honor will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Albany Area Habitat for Humanity.
