Michael Corrin Ladd, 61, of Millersburg, Oregon, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, as he went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born on September 17, 1964, in Portland, Oregon, to Richard and Marda Ladd, Michael was a remarkably hardworking, kind, and beloved man who dedicated his life to serving and helping others. A true servant at heart, Michael retired from the Salem Fire Department after a career devoted to protecting and serving his community. It wasn’t long before his desire to help others led him back to work in public service, where he continued making a difference in the lives of those around him.

Michael was known for his generous spirit, compassionate heart, and willing hands. He was the kind of person who was always ready to lend a hand, offer his time, or do whatever he could to help someone in need. His bravery, strong work ethic, sense of adventure, and genuine love for others left a lasting impression on everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.

During his courageous battle with cancer, Michael experienced a meaningful turning point in his life. Through one of the most difficult seasons he faced, his faith grew deeply, and he recommitted his life to Jesus. His renewed relationship with Christ brought him a profound sense of peace and comfort, along with the reassurance of the Lord’s love and presence. His faith became a beautiful part of his final journey.

Michael was the beloved husband of Lisa Ladd, with whom he shared more than ten adventurous and cherished years. He was also a deeply loving Dad and Papa. His family will forever carry the lessons he taught through the way he lived, loving fiercely, working hard, helping others, embracing adventure, and facing life with courage.

Michael is survived by his wife, Lisa Ladd; his children, Brittney Kirkwood, Cassidy Scott, Ashlyn Boogar, and Lucas Savage; his grandchildren, Jameson Bryant and Kinsley Grogan; his sister, Laura Ladd; and his beloved cats, Miles, Elsie May, and Charlie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Marda Ladd.

Though Michael is deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that he is fully healed, free from pain, and resting eternally in the loving arms of his Savior. His life was a gift to those who knew him, and his love, kindness, courage, and legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the community he served.

A Celebration of Michael’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Willamette Community Church, 420 Third Ave SE, Albany, OR 97321.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael’s memory to Heartland Humane Shelter and Care in Corvallis, Oregon.
