Michael de LuseNov. 6, 1926 - June 18, 2010Michael "Mike" de Luse, 83, of Albany died Friday at Regency of Albany. He was born in Chicago, ILL., to his parents Harold & Lucille (Becker) Luse. When he was 7, the family moved to California.During World War II, Mike joined the Navy and served in the Pacific. Following the war he lived another 20 years in California, eight years in Lake Tahoe, Nev.; and 37 years in Eddyville and Albany. Mike was an exceptional hair stylist with a clientelle including Gene Autry, Chuck Connors, Fess Parker, Clint Walker, Rod Cameron, Ted de Corsi, Fabian,Sterling Hayden, Robert Taylor, Phil Carey, Jerry Van Dyke, Merle Haggard, Joe Louis, Red Skelton, Lawrence Welk, Foster Brooks and Muhammad Ali.He was a member of the American Legion of Philomath.He was preceeded in death by his parents; brother Herb; and sister Virginia.He is survived by his partner of 37 years, Shirley Peters; daughters Jill Carrillo of Rio Vista, Calif., and Sheila Reynolds of Augusta, Ky.; stepdaughters Toni Jones of Salem, Carla Bigelow of Canby and Sandra Boyd of Milwaukie; sister Patricia Luse of Boise, Idaho; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.There will be a graveside service at 1pm Wednesday at Willamette Memorial Park with a reception to follow at his residence.
