Mildred Rhea Francoeur, 95, of Albany passed away on Wednesday at Quail Run.
Mildred was born in Bristol, Conn., to George A and Martha (Gooley) Jackson. Mickey was one of eight children, four sisters and three brothers, all deceased.
Mickey married Paul E. Francoeur on March 1, 1938, in Millerton, N.Y. Paul passed away June 29, 2000. The couple did not have any children.
Mickey worked at Payless Drug Store for many years in charge of the camera department. She and her husband, Paul, were active in the local bowling leagues for many years. She very much enjoyed sewing, especially cross stitch sewing, and made many excellent wall hangings, bedspreads and was known for her beautiful cross stitch Christmas cards. Mickey was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albany and was active in the local Catholic Daughters organization. She used her knitting skills to make many shawls, lap robes and afghans for individuals with medical problems.
Mickey is survived by nephew Thomas Rea of Albany and numerous nieces and nephews who live on the east coast.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Francoeur; sisters Martha Rea, Margaret Roloff, Helen Behrene and Georgie LuDillo; and brothers Harold Jackson, Cedric Jackson and George Jackson.
A funeral liturgy will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albany with burial to follow at Willamette Memorial Park.
