Obituary

Mitzi M. Potz, 69, of Tangent went to be with Jesus. She will truly be missed as she was loved by many. She does not want black or sorrow, but a party full of color, joy and hope for tomorrow.
Mitzi was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, to Mathias and Elsa (Schlotthauer) Potz. She grew up in British Columbia, Canada, and attended Pitman College. She worked as a legal secretary, alcohol and drug counselor, business manager and a human resources manager, and retired from Linn County in 2012.
Mitzi enjoyed gardening, knitting, doing crosswords, hiking, biking and volunteering. She was a 23-year volunteer with Prison Fellowship, a board member for the Sparrow House, an animal advocate, and a volunteer with the 10-year to end homelessness program.
Mitzi is survived by daughter Kelli Anglim and husband John of Penn Valley, Calif.; daughter-in-law Paula Dougherty of Salem; son Sean Dougherty of North Hollywood, Calif.; brother Harry Golz of Coquitlam, British Columbia; sister Jeanette Nixon of Calgary, Alberta; and grandchildren Amanda Kemble and husband Dan, Rachel Rogers and husband Cody, Casandra Dougherty, Mattias Anglim and Moriah Anglim.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son Richard Dougherty.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2014.
Memorial contributions may be made to SafeHaven, Helping Hands, the Sparrow House or the Rick Dougherty Oxford House in care of the funeral home.
