Ngan Yau ChanSeptember 13, 1927 - October 4, 2007Ngan Yau Chan, 80, of Albany passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis, Oregon on Thursday October 4th, 2007. Ngan Yau Chan was born in Guangdong, China. She married Chun Ka Lee in 1947, and then resided in Hong Kong from 1957 - 1971, and then they moved to Colombia, South America. In 1979, she immigrated to Oregon with her family. She worked at Bing's Kitchen in Lebanon, and then later they moved to Albany to open up Ping's Garden. She loved working in her garden and taking walks around the neighborhood. Spending quality time with her grandchildren and family was always a joy to her, especially on family trips. During the holidays, she was always the chef because many of her dishes were enjoyed by family and friends. She will always be remembered for her sesame balls, shrimp dumplings, Chinese empanadas, curry beef bao, and delicious soups. She was preceded in death by her husband Chun Ka Lee and her two sisters. She is survived by her brother Kwok Chiu Chan, her sister Pui Ling Chan, two sons Chung Ngong Lee, and Chung Ping Lee, her two daughters Wai Lin Ching, and Sandra Lee. She also has nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral Services will be held Monday October 8, at 1:00 P.M. at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home with burial to follow at Wilamette Memorial Park.
