Oran "Junior" Ward, 74, of Albany passed away Monday at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis.

Oran was born in Woodland, CA, the son of Oran and Martha (Gibson) Ward. He was raised in Bandon, OR, and married Jean Bethene Newman in Gold Beach, OR. Oran drove truck for 55 years first in logging then in long-haul and was driving for C Hill Trucking up until the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife Bethene Ward of Albany, four daughters: Jeannie Shirk of Seward, AK, Lisa Pinkerton of Gold Beach, OR, Stephanie Ward of Tacoma, WA, and Michelle Hughes of Oak Harbor, WA; three sons: John Ward and Bruce Ward both of Anchorage, AK, and Ron Ward of Powers, OR; numerous grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two brothers Kenneth Ward of Lebanon, OR, and Wally Ward of Bandon, OR.

Family services will be held at a later date. AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
