Orma Maxine ToweryMarch 13, 1918 - April 4, 2010Orma Maxine Towery, 92, of Albany, went home to the Lord on Easter Sunday, at Providence Benedictine Care Center in Mt. Angel, Oregon. Orma was born in Leedy, OK on March 13, 1918 to Herman and Kathryn Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents and eight brothers and sisters. She was married to Russell H. Towery for 35 years until he preceded her in death in 1978.  Orma took pride in her work at her various tenures of employment over the years. Her proudest moments came during World War II when she served as a "riveter" in support of the war effort. She also took great pride in the furniture she would build while working at Veal's Furniture in Albany. Orma was an avant gardener and loving homemaker.  She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Strait of Albany, and A. Susie Dunn (husband Butch) of Keizer, OR. Her Grandsons, Casey Dunn (wife Laura), and Chris Dunn (wife Suzanne), both of Keizer, OR. Her Granddaughters, Dawn Neal (husband Russ) of Castle Rock, Co and Cara Strait of Greenville, SC, and eight great grandchildren. Graveside service will be held on Friday at 2 pm at Twin Oaks Cemetery.
