Orren C. Webb-BowenJune 5, 1923 - May 28, 2008Orren C. Webb-Bowen, 84 of Albany passed away Wednesday at Samaritan Albany General Hospital.He was born in St. Helens to E. Edmond and Ida Mae (Congdon) Webb-Bowen. He was raised in St. Helens and graduated from high school there in 1941. Orren attended Oregon State University before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. He served in WW II and Korea as a naval aviator. On Dec. 26, 1945 Orren married Marie R. Clare in Grosse Ile, Mich. on the naval base. They had resided in Bly, The Dalles, Klamath Falls and Gold Beach before moving to Albany in March of 2008. Orren owned and operated O.C. Webb-Bowen Inc., a petroleum distributorship until he retired in 1999. Orren was a life member The Dalles Elks Lodge as well as the American Legion and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Klamath Falls. He enjoyed playing tennis, snowmobiling, and boating.He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie Webb-Bowen of Albany; son Ken and wife Linda Webb-Bowen of Albany; daughters Sharon and husband Roger Woodburn of Rockport, Ind., and Barbara Boyesen of Aurora, Colo.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.A memorial mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albany.
