IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Orvel "Butch"
Lee Chaney Jr
August 25, 1946 – November 25, 2023
Butch was a father to two girls, Sheila and Jenny, who were his world. He was preceded in death by his younger brother Joseph Andrew Chaney August 1981 and his mother Maude (Maudie) Grace Fassett on December 12, 2008. He is survived by his older sister, Lura Janeth (Carl) Chapman and his three nephews he loved. Roy, Lee, and Michael Lightfoot.
Butch enjoyed the outdoors. His hobbies included fishing, swimming, agate hunting, gold panning, making jerky, dancing, listening to music, working on small engines and always coming up with some clever device as long as he could work with his hands.
Butch was charismatic, strong, and memorable to whoever met him. He was remembered and described as "a girl's dad", "Hercules", and someone you could learn what NOT to do. He did not judge, knew how to comfort those that hurt, LOVED his family, and lived life on his terms. His daughters, son-in-laws, sister (brother in law), nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends and those who worked with him at the Avamere in Junction City who got to know him will miss him. He will forever be remembered by those who knew him, especially when the "Oh Pretty Woman", "Elvis", or "Johnny Cash" songs play.
