Patricia "Pat" H.A. McCord EllingsonJuly 1, 1930 - June 27, 2008Patricia "Pat" H.A. McCord Ellingson, 77, of Albany died Friday at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.She was born in Alix, Alberta, Canada to Charles and Alice (Roland) Simmons.  In 1953 she married Roy A. McCord in Stettler, Alberta, Canada.  Roy and Pat were stationed in Germany while Roy was in the U.S. Air Force.  While stationed stateside in Orlando, Fla., they had 2 daughters, Patty and Colleen.The family moved to Oregon after Roy was honorably discharged, and they made their home in Halsey for 28 years.  Their son Donald was born in Albany.Pat enjoyed her job with Oregon State University Horticulture Farm and loved her flower gardens.  She was know by her children's friends to always have something ready to eat, a listening ear and a caring heart.After Roy A. passed away Pat moved to Sweet Home and then to Albany.  In 1990 she married Francis L. Ellingson.  They made their home in Albany for 18 years.  She was known to her neighbors as a good friend and an avid flower gardener."Grandma Pat" put family first.  She will be greatly missed by all.Pat was a member of Halsey Methodist Church and Grant Avenue Baptist Church in Corvallis.Pat is survived by daughters Patty McCord of Portland, Colleen Zimick of Albany ; son Donald McCord of Christmas Valley; grandsons Achilles Hicks of Provo, Utah, Clarke McCord, Chance McCord and Cameron McCord all of Christmas Valley; granddaughters Samantha Hicks and Brandy Hicks of Provo, and Crystal Hicks of Albany; brothers Maurice Simmons of Calgary, Alberta and Robert Simmons of Alix, Alberta. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Alice Simmons; husband Roy A. McCord and husband Francis L. Ellingson.A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home.  In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pacific NW Cancer Society or Albany-Lebanon Fire Rescue Stations 11 and 12.  AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home is handling the arrangements ( www.aasum-dufour.com ).
