Obituary

Paul W. Neuschwander, 95, of Albany passed away Wednesday at P. S. We love Seniors in Corvallis.

Paul was born in Harrisburg to Edwin and Mary (Zuercher) Neuschwander. He completed schooling through the eighth grade at Tennessee School. He lived in Harrisburg for 10 years, Lebanon for 15 years and settled on a farm near Albany for 70 years. On Sept. 7, 1941, he married Blanche Stutzman. She passed away in 1994.

He was a member of Fairview Mennonite Church from his youth. Paul was a father, grandfather and great-grandfather who was a quiet, gentle and honest man, and was committed to the Lord and his family. He loved farming and continued to do so until age 88. After that he helped with harvest until age 93. He loved gardening and shared generously from it with family and neighbors. "We are all grateful for his love and godly example. We will miss him."

Paul is survived by sons Oren and wife Mim, Larry and wife Doris, and James and wife LoraLee Neuschwander, all of Albany; daughter Lois and husband Greg Hershberger of Columbia, Pa.; sister Lorene Neuschwander of Albany; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by wife Blanche; brothers Vernon and Ira Neuschwander; and sister Velma Kropf.

A visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Fairview Mennonite Church, 35100 Goltra Road S.E., Albany, with a graveside service to follow at Fairview Mennonite Cemetery.
