Obituary

Paula Jean (Miller) (Harris) Vosgien, 74, of Albany died Sunday at home with her family by her side.

Paula was born in Albany to Dallis Paul and Jean Elizabeth Harris (Smith). She and her two sisters and four brothers grew up in Jefferson. Her father farmed on Talbot Road where they grew rye grass and grain and raised turkeys.

She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1955. In February 1957, she married Gilbert LeRoy Miller. They made their home in Albany. Later they divorced. Paula worked as a dispatcher for the Albany Police Department and Fire Department.

In 1972, Paula married Keith "Pete" Vosgien. They made their life together on a small farm in rural Albany. They enjoyed camping and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Pete died in July of 1989.

Paula's interests included gardening (she was a Master Gardener), knitting, traveling and family and friends. She was well known for her beautiful flowers and abundant produce.

Paula is survived by her brothers, Robert Harris of California, Thomas Harris of Texas and Richard Harris of Albany; sisters Martha Larson and Janet Fitts, both of Oregon; four children, Tim Miller and wife Vicki of Texas, Jeff Miller of Texas, Jan Callow and husband Kevin of Washington, and Kathy Miller and husband George of Albany; four stepsons Jeff , David , Ken and John Vosgien; grandchildren Chris Miller, Aharon, Jegar and Neal LaGrander, and Christopher and Zachary Miller; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory LeRoy Miller; and brother Edwin Harris.

A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home.
