Gene Jimmerson, 77, of Lebanon passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday morning surrounded by family.
Gene was born in Salem to John Thomas and Vernice Elizabeth (Theuer) Jimmerson. He grew up in the Hoskins Kings Valley area, and graduated from Corvallis High School in 1954. He married Charlene Rae Cheney, June 15, 1959 in Corvallis and they stayed in the valley living the last 20 plus years in Lacomb.
Gene worked for Ormet driving truck and later working in the warehouse, he retired in 1996. He enjoyed tinkering on old cars and tractors and helping others. He was a member of the steele workers union.
Gene is survived by his wife, Charlene Rae Jimmerson; son Brian Jimmerson of Lacomb; daughters Linda Heidenreich of Scio and Laurie Fox of Waldport; 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister and daughter Elizabeth Martin.
A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at the Lacomb Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Doernbecher Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home.
