Obituary

Ray Gene Hancock passed away on Tuesday, in the comfort of his youngest daughter's home in Toledo, Oregon, from the commonly known Lou Gehrig's disease.

Ray was born in Thorn Grove, Arkansas, to the late Charlie Harrison and Ethel Pearl Hancock. He grew up In Knobel, Arkansas.

Ray was married to Merlene Cate on November 27, 1954.

He was a member of the Albany Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising a garden.

Ray is survived by wife Merlene Hancock; children Steven Hancock, Kimberly Waggoner and Angela Templeton; grandchildren Tim, Barbara, Tera, Hunter, Kayla and Trent; great grandchildren Madelyn, Weston, Addison, Aubrey, expecting Nolan.

Ray has two remaining sister's Ella Bell, of Heber Springs, Arkansas and Lucille (Earl) Thomas, of Hot Springs, Arkansas of siblings that originally numbered nine.

A celebration of life service will take place at 3:00PM Saturday, October 11, 2014, at Albany Missionary Baptist Church 710 SW Walnut St Albany, Oregon 97321.

Donations for the church building fund in lieu of flowers are welcome.
