Reta L. MartinDec. 17, 1913 - Oct. 12, 2009Reta L. Martin, 95, of Albany passed away Monday at Regency of Albany.She was born in Brownsville, the daughter of Amiel A. and Vena E. (Goodland) Nemchick.  She attended school in Albany until the fifth grade then went sixth thru eighth in Dallas. She married Cecil G. Martin on Oct.15, 1929, in Dallas.  They lived in various places before coming to Albany in 1933. Reta worked as a farm hand and as a kitchen coordinator for the Elderly Nutrician Program.  She enjoyed collecting rocks and arrow heads and flower gardening.Reta is survived by son, Harold D. Martin of Shelton, Wash.; granddaughters Karen Bissett and husband Gary of Wrenton, Wash., Diana Scully and husband Bill of Olalla, Wash.; grandson Ronald Martin of Shelton, Wash.; six great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Cecil Martin; brother Glenn Nemchick; and sisters Grace Gaffin, Wilma Kutsch, and Lois Penning.A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Willamette Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home is handling arrangements ( www.aasum-dufour.com ).
