Rhonda Jo Salomon January 10, 1966 -  April 16, 2018 Rhonda Jo Salomon (Hersom) peacefully passed away in her sleep on Monday, at the Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House.  In 2004, testing identified Lynch syndrome, which is a type of inherited cancer syndrome associated with a genetic predisposition to different cancer types.  She fought a courageous battle for many years. Rhonda was born in East Hartford, CT., the youngest child of Robert and Faye Hersom.  Upon the death of her parents in 1969 she moved and grew up on a farm in Maine, with Sonny and Edie Scott who will always be remembered as her loving parents.  As an adult Rhonda spent time living in New Orleans and Arizona and moved to Oregon in 2003 to be closer to her sister. An adventurous soul, as a young woman she hitchhiked across the country in the 80's.  Rhonda enjoyed the outdoors, especially tramping around the riverbeds of Oregon in search of artifacts and rocks.  She adored children and animals and once rescued a three legged dog. Rhonda is survived by her sister, Roberta Kane of Salem, OR.; brother Richard Hersom of Augusta, ME.; nephew Drew Romano and family of Upland, CA.; and niece Stacy Hersom and family of Bangor, ME.  She was preceded in death by her birth parents and brother Robert Hersom Jr. of Lilburn, GA.  She will be missed by many friends and a large extended family in Maine.
