Obituary

Richard (Dick) Dalke was born June 3, 1930 in Salem, Oregon to Menno & Mary (Workentin) Dalke. He married Mary Diehl on February 15, 1953 in Mt. Angel, Oregon. Richard passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026 at Bonaventure Care Facility in Albany.

Richard served his country as a member of the air force. After his discharge he received his civil engineering degree from OIT in Klamath Falls. He worked as a Civil Engineer for the City of Albany and Linn County. He then started K & D Engineering with Howard Kraus. After his retirement from K & D, he went back to work for Benton County and Polk County as their engineer. He permanently retired in 1992.

Richard & Mary enjoyed their time in Yuma, AZ and Palm Springs, CA as snowbirds. They liked traveling with friends and family. He was active in the Eagles and Elks and also enjoyed being part of Bridge and Pinochle groups. He kept active at the gym, playing racketball and golfing.

Richard is survived by his children Rick Dalke of Albany, Steve (Stacy) Dalke of Tangent, Lisa (Ray) Chesley of Salem, Keith Dalke of Philomath and Kevin (Linda) Dalke of Green Bay, WI. Four grandchildren Jake Ameden of Washington, Megan (Bryan) Krawczyk of Corvallis, Kyle Dalke of Albany and Sophia Chesley of Newberg. Two Great grandchildren Adley and Beckett Krawczyk.

He is proceeded in death by his parents; wife Mary Dalke, daughter Sharon Brock, sisters Clora Mae Singer, Gladys Welty; brothers Clayton Dalke & John Dalke.

He will be missed.
