Richard Franklin Draper

Richard Franklin Draper, 83, of Albany died Monday at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
Richard was born in Pleasanton, Calif., to Rozel and Ida (Rock) Draper. He moved to Oregon with his family and began building homes with his father and brothers in the Albany area.
Richard served as a Merchant Marine and later in the Philippines as a Sea Bee.
He married Betty Sue Kilgore on May 7, 1955, in Albany. The two raised their family in Albany.
Richard's hobby was horse trading and he was a member of First church of the Nazarene in Albany.
Richard is survived by wife Betty of Albany; sons Steven Draper, and Mark and wife Teresa Draper, all of Albany; daughter Connie Joe Samms of Texas; brother Dave Draper; sisters Donna Schneider and Lois Skiles; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
