Robert "Bob" William WilfongAug. 10, 1950-April 10, 2009 Robert "Bob" William Wilfong, 58, passed away Friday morning. Bob was born in Pasadena, California, the only child of Cecelia (Kamont) & William E. Wilfong.  He grew up in Glendale, Calif. & graduated from St. Francis High School in 1968.  He continued on & graduated from college.  Bob served time with the National Guard and was Honorably Discharged.While in the Glendale area, Bob was employed at Ralph's Grocery.  In the early 1980's, Bob came to Oregon to visit a friend, and took a job with Safeway.  He remained employed with Safeway until the time of his death.Bob loved anything that allowed him to be outdoors.  He enjoyed spending time with his dad, Bill, when his parents moved to Oregon a few years later.  They enjoyed hunting & fishing in Eastern Oregon.  He enjoyed fishing & crabbing with his parents & Uncle Hayden and Aunt Marie on the Oregon coast before his mother became ill.Bob loved his family, dogs, yard work, his garden, and anyone who would love to visit with him.September of 1993, Bob married Peggy (Reiger) Chipman.  They have a daughter, Stephanie Marie, who will be 15.  The family enjoyed time together traveling, camping, fishing, snow-skiing, & bike rides.Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Cecelia.He is survived by wife, Peggy and daughter, Stephanie and father, William, all of Albany; and many extended family members, extremely close friends, ski buddies & work buddies.A viewing will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home.
