Roderick Duane Williams, known by friends and family as Rick, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2024, in Corvallis, Oregon at the age of 73.
Born in Madera, California February 25, 1951, Rick's life was characterized by his analytical mind, and friendliness to people who knew him. His journey began in the heart of California, where he spent his childhood and formative years. A graduate of Chowchilla Union High School, he demonstrated early on a knack for mechanics and problem-solving. Ricks passion led him to acquire several vocational certifications in the automotive field, which would shape his professional life for years to come. Rick worked as an Automotive Mechanic in the family business that served the communities of Chowchilla and Manteca, California. His expertise and reliability made him a respected figure in the automotive industry. Rick later specialized as a State Certified Smog Technician, a role he held until his well-earned retirement.
Upon retirement, Rick embraced the change of pace and relocated to Lebanon, Oregon, where he and his wife could enjoy their personal interests. His was a fascination with electronics and appreciation of transistor radios. Rick's life was enriched by his family.
He leaves behind his devoted spouse, Beverly, who was his partner for 20 years in his life's journey, his son, Christopher Williams, and his stepsons, Matthew and Michael Wilson, Rick's sister, Veloyce Doyle, who will hold dear memories of her brother.
Rick was a man of faith and valued the friendships he had over his lifetime. Rick's life has concluded and although he is gone from our sight, his spirit and memory will continue in our hearts.
