Rodney Dale Kinion

Feb. 7, 1939 - Oct. 5, 2016

Dale Kinion passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016 at his home in Albany.

Dale was born in Newport to Elden and Edith Kinion. He grew up and attended schools in Turner and Corvallis and graduated from Corvallis High School. He attended Oregon State University for four years where he played basketball and studied accounting. Dale also served honorably in the army. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 32 years.

Dale was married to Jeanette Searcy who preceded in him in death.

Dale was a member of the Eagles, American Legion and the Moose Lodge. He was an avid sports fan of all sports but his favorites were the Blazers, Mariners and Oregon State Beavers. He was an avid outdoorsman, and especially enjoyed pheasant hunting with his family.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Elden and Edith Kinion.

He is survived by brothers Neal and Dan Kinion; sisters Brenda Thompson and Lajane Dyer; daughters Lonnie Holifield, Jenny Finster and Leaha Parnish; as well as 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dale's honor to Meals on Wheels.

A celebration-of-life service will take place at a later date and time.
