Ronald Gordon Eichler, 77, of Albany passed away on Tuesday at his residence.
Ronald was born in Benton Harbor, Mich., to Fred and Edith (Rogen) Eichler. He grew up in Benton Harbor and moved to Prescott, Ariz., then Lodi, Calif., where he graduated from high school. Ronald enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a Cryptographic Specialist on the Berlin Wall in Germany.
After his honorable discharge he began working as an instrument repairman for the federal government. Ronald was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Albany and enjoyed working on cars.
Ronald is survived by a brother, William Eichler of Sequim, Wash. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Edith Eichler; and brother Robert Eichler.
A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at Willamette Memorial Park.
