Ruth Adelyn HootenSept. 18, 1924 - March 5, 2009Ruth Adelyn Hooten, 84, passed away pecefully Thursday at her home.  By her faith in Jesus, she has been delivered into the arms of God.Ruth was born to Lloyd and Laura (Evans) Day in Pasadena, Calif.  She grew up in the Eagle Rock, Calif. area.In 1948 Ruth married Earl F. Hooten.  They shared 60 wonderful years together.  He died in 2008.  She never stopped missing him.Together Ruth and Earl built a house in La Puente, Calif.  It was there that they raised their four children.  In the 1970s they opened R&H Sportsware.  Upon retirement in 1980 they moved to Albany.In Albany, Ruth opened Ruth's Doll Shop;  combining her artistry and sewing skills.  She created beautiful period-authentic dress designs.  She belonged to several doll clubs.Ruth enjoyed serving the Lord in his church.  She was an active member who truly loved her church family.She was a wonderful caring mother and a doting nanny, always encouraging her family to live life to the fullest.  Ruth was an intelligent, warm, generous person who was a lot of fun.  She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed.Ruth is survived by a daughter from her first marriage, Michelle Hull of Kansas; four other children, son Robert Hooten and wife Susan of Calif.; and daughters Bonnie Raymond and husband Mel of Albany, Barbara Hooten of Jefferson, and Beverly Schantz and husband Roger of Salem.  Ruth thoroughly enjoyed time spent with her seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church.  In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the church's music department.  AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home is handling the arrangements ( www.aasum-dufour.com ).
