Sandra A. Hatley, 69, of Albany passed away Friday, Jan. 17.
She was born in Columbia, the only child to William and Virginia (Loman) Galyan. When she was 6 years old the family moved to Hermiston while her father worked on the McNary Dam. Later they moved to Albany. She graduated from Albany Union High School in 1962 and attended one year at Merritt-Davis College in Salem.
She received a certificate of completion and began working at a credit union in Salem as a card-punch operator. She then worked for three years in Missoula, Mont., for the US Forest Service. After returning to Albany she was married and later divorced. She then worked at the state employment office and at Linn-Benton Community College before receiving a position at OSU as a data entry operator. She retired in 1998.
She enjoyed bird watching and traveling in the western states.
Sandra is survived by son William and wife Lora Hatley, and grandson Will and wife Chris Hatley, all of Albany.
Celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home. Private interment took place at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens.
