Sandra Olsen-Halsey, 58, of Albany died Tuesday at the home she shared with her husband of 28 years, Steven Halsey.
Sandra was born to Lois Irene Shoemaker and Herbert Lewis Olsen and raised in the Willamette Valley, where she enjoyed reading, baking and traveling to the coast. A lifelong history and politics buff, she never went anywhere without her trusty pocket-Constitution. She attended Albany Union High School, was a member of St. Mary's Parish and worked at Selmet Inc. for many years.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Steve, father Herb and aunt Anne Mundt, all of Albany; sister and brother-in-law Susan and Donald Barrett of Portland; and daughter and her fiancé Serena Halsey and Victor Illescas of Los Angeles.
A memorial open house will be from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home. All friends and family are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Smile Train, Heifer International or American Red Cross.
