Sanna Joyce PurkeyJuly 29, 1925 - July 9, 2009Sanna Joyce Purkey, 83, of Albany died Thursday at her residence.She was born in George, Iowa, to Archibald and Evelyn (Stoughton) McGillvary.She attended three years of college at Iowa State University, just a term short of graduating.  On May 11, 1946, she married Carl L. Purkey in Klamath Falls. She was a member of The United Presbyerian Church serving as a church elder. She was very active in her community, volunteering on the local election board, the county extension office, 4-H and public library. She was a dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.     .Her hobbies included gardening and knitting.    Sanna is survived by her husband, Carl; daughters Jean Eilers of Albany and Carla Zegers of Newport; and sons Randal and Eric Purkey, both of Albany.    .An Open House will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at 1931 Grand Prairie Road, Albany.   The family has requested donations be given to Evergreen Hospice.AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home is handling arrangements.  (ww.aasum-dufour.com).
