Scott Allen Turley, 51, of Albany passed away Saturday at his home.
He was born in Oregon City the son of Dwayne D. and Patricia Rae (Hughey) Turley. Scott was raised in Salem and attended North Salem High School where he played football, baseball and wrestled. He graduated in 1979 and in the early '80s was a wind surfer instructor in central Oregon. Scott was a diesel technician and owned and operated Turley Enterprises for 16 years. He married Deborah Emerson Mitchell on Dec. 31, 2001, in Reno.
Scott was an avid hunter and enjoyed camping, fishing, skiing and race car driving. He was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Ducks Unlimited and was a volunteer fire fighter in Jefferson. He attended Oak Creek Christian Center in Albany.
Scott is survived by his wife, Deborah Turley of Albany; father Dwayne Turley of Tangent; stepfather Don Welter of Salem; son Joshua Turley of Albany; daughter Megan Mitchell of Grants Pass; daughter Kayla Turley of San Diego, Calif.; son Heath Mitchell of Grants Pass; brothers Craig and Robert Turley of Grants Pass, and Christopher Turley of Salem; stepbrother Amir Shahim and step-sister Roshan Shahim, both of Springfield; and grandson Reece Mitchell of Grants Pass.
Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Rae Welter; sister Kimberly Turley; and stepmother Rene Turley.
A celebration of life will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at Oak Creek Christian Center.
