Obituary

Sharon Kay (Mundt) Parsons has left us... Born in Woodlake, Nebraska on May 21, 1942, she moved to Albany, Oregon as a young girl and graduated from Albany Union High School in 1960. While she called other states her home throughout her adult life, she returned to Albany in 1984, where she lived a full life until it was her time on Thursday, November 27, 2014. Her passing leaves us all deeply saddened - her smile, her warm and generous heart, her love of Santas, dolls and the critters outside in her beautiful garden are just a few of the things that will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Sharon is survived by William Lester Parsons, her loving husband of 54 years, her four children, Cindy Harms and her partner Jordie Cross, of Albany; Kathy Hair and her husband John Hair, of Ukiah, CA; Merrilee Parsons and her partner Bruno Quercini, of San Francisco, CA; and Anthony Parsons, of Eugene. She delighted in her role as Gramms to Amanda Hair, Daniel Hair, Jessica Harms, Serafina Quercini and Anthony's four-legged child, Brutus. She found even more joy in being Great-Gramms to Madison and Rylee Carroll and was thrilled to have two more Great-Grandchildren on the way.

She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Kenny Mundt, Janet Hanger, Stanley Mundt and Carolyn Vanlandingham. Sharon has loved ones waiting to greet and embrace her on her new journey including her much loved mother, Doris Mundt; her grand daughter, Ashley Harms, her sister Phyllis Walker, her brother Larry Mundt and her brother-in-law, Larry Vanlandingham, to name a few.

For the past 15+ years, Sharon found much satisfaction, achievement and personal joy helping others in her role as House Manager at Pacific Ridge and Recovery in the Salem area. To put it simply, she loved her job to the fullest. After raising her four children, it became the perfect outlet for her compassion, generosity and loving heart. Those she encountered there were truly her extended family.

Please join us for a Graveside Service celebrating the life of an inspiring wife, mother, sister, gramms, and friend on Tuesday, December 2 at 2:30pm at Willamette Memorial Park in Millersburg, Oregon. There will be a gathering at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home immediately following the service.

She was loved by many. Peace to her.
