Shirley Colleen Radford, 85, of Albany passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House surrounded by her family.
Shirley was born in Leon, Iowa, on Nov. 10, 1930, to Ralph and Dorcas (Zimmerman) Dunham. The family moved to Oregon in the spring of 1947 and made their home in the Jefferson area.
Shirley married Donald Dean Radford on Sept. 14, 1960. Don and Shirley had one son, Dean Ross Radford, who was born on Aug. 11, 1964. He passed away at the young age of 40 on Aug. 3, 2005.
Shirley is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mari Radford, and two grandsons, Ross and Reed Radford, who reside on the east coast; sisters Mary Lou and husband Gordon Bigler of Woodburn, Delores and husband George Burleson of Jefferson, and Karen and husband Bob Whitehead of Albany; and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Dean; beloved son Dean Ross; parents Ralph and Dorcas Dunham; sisters Lois (Pat) Earnest and Donella Thompson; and brother Roy (Sonny) Dunham.
A celebration-of-life service in Shirley's memory will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at the Albany Eagles Lodge. She will be buried with her beloved son, Dean Ross Radford, and next to her husband, Donald Dean, at Willamette Memorial Park in Millersburg.
