Sondra L. Lute, 78, of Albany passed away on Monday at Country Farm adult foster care home.
Sondra was born in Aztec, New Mexico, to Bruce and Mayme (Howe) Parker. She grew up in Brookings and graduated from Brookings High School.
Sondra married Jack Anton Lute on Monday, May 11, 1953, in Gold Beach. They moved to Dallas in 1955 and in 1963 they came to Albany where she had been since that time. Sondra worked as a church secretary for the North Albany Baptist Church, now known as the North Albany Community Church, for 27 years and taught the 2s and 3s Sunday school class for many years.
Her life was devoted to her family and her home was the family gathering place every Saturday for many years. Sondra enjoyed sewing, canning, gardening and baking for her children and grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her warm hospitable smile.
Sondra is survived by daughters, Pam and husband Larry Harrington of Albany, Kandy and husband Michael Parks of Monmouth, and Darla Weekly of Albany; son Kevin Lute and wife Shelley of Clackamas; grandchildren Chelsea and husband Jason Wenger, Chad, Manuel, Ashley and husband Kevin Burrow, Kacey, Christopher, Taylor, Jordyn, Madison, Alexa, and Jacquelyn; great-granddaughters Ella and Olivia; brother Ray Brooks of Bend; and sister Kay Riddle of Brownsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Lute; parents; brother Stanley Parker; and sister Alta Jane Williams.
A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at the funeral home followed by a reception. Private family burial will be held at Palestine Cemetery.
