Stanley Joseph Finn, 82, of Albany died Wednesday at his home.
He was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Francis and Hannah (Foulks) Finn. Stanley was raised in Cedar Rapids and graduated from high school there. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the 82nd Airborne Division.
He married Gladys L. Linam in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, on March 28, 1965. Stanley worked in hydro-electric dam construction on the Yellow Tail Dam in Montana, Green Peter and Foster Dams, the Dwarf shack dam on the Snake River, and as a lock smith for the Albany School District retiring in 1993. He enjoyed restoring cars, woodworking, camping and fishing. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, The American Legion Post 10, and a past member of the Eagles Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Louise Finn of Albany; son Michael Finn of Ontario; sister Jean Barger of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; granddaughter Amanda and husband Charlie Hobson of Albany; and great-granddaughters Taylor and Madison Hobson of Albany.
He was preceded in death by daughter Linda Jepsen; and four brothers, Frank, Allan, Norman and David Finn.
A visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 25, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Private burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice and sent in care of the funeral home.
