Thomas E. Taylor Jr. , 87 passed away in Albany, Oregon.
He was born in Pincher, OK to Thomas E. Taylor Sr. and Dorothy Cecil Patrick Taylor. He was raised in Garden City, Kansas where he joined the Army in Dec. of 1943 at the age of 17 and became a medic.
Tom met and married Hazel Atwood in Springfield, MO where they had one son, Thomas, better known as "Rusty", born in 1945. Hazel preceded Tom in 1947. In 1948, Tom met and married Anna Mae Curwick in Norton, Kansas. They had two children, April and Betty, while residing in Kansas.
In 1954, they moved to Oregon, where their other two children, Patricia and Carrie, were born. They lived for several years in Gales Creek, Oregon where they owned and operated a poultry ranch. In 1971, they sold the farm and moved to Tillamook, where they then began buying and remodeling homes. They would work all winter and early spring on the houses and in the spring and summer they would travel to the Snake River where Tom would enjoy fishing for crappie and catfish; and then in the fall would fish for salmon and steelhead along the Wilson River.
Failing health was the motivating reason for their move to Jefferson, and Tom was eventually moved to an assisted living facility where he suffered a massive stroke and died.
Tom is survived by wife, Anna; daughters April and husband Art Martin, Betty and husband Tom Stotler, Patricia Taylor and Carrie Taylor; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and brother David Joe of Florence.
Tom was preceded in death by son Rusty; two half-brothers; two brothers; and a sister.
