Timothy Mike Daniels 4/6/1950 - 4/28/2018 Mike passed away Saturday morning at the Evergreen Hospice House on April 28th. His parents Tim and Joann Daniels, his nephew Chad and niece Tracie passed before him. He is survived by his wife Karen, daughters Sherri and Dirk Holst and Paula and Kevin Zentz, grandson Jeffrey, and grand-daughters Kailey, Samantha and Brenna. He is also survived by his sister Donna and Fred Farrow, sister Teddy and Ron Henderson, brothers Monty and Joan Daniels, John and Joann Daniels, Jim and Marnell Daniels and Joe Daniels. He had numerous nieces and nephews that he loved very much. Mike was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He loved the holidays with everyone home and playing games, loved listening to them laughing and teasing each other. Backyard barbeques and birthday parties were always a big event. Mike loved hunting and fishing. Just being outdoors made him happy. So he could spend more time with his daughters, he started taking them fishing each father's day. A day on the river with his girls was a very special time. He loved planning summer vacations, taking trips to Disneyland or a camping trip by the river. Any time to get a little fishing in was always in the plans. No trip was too far and the more along the better. Mike always looked forward to hunting season. His groups through the years included his father, uncles, brothers, brothers-in-law, cousins, nephews and friends. He would make lists and plans weeks before the yearly trips. He really enjoyed it when the younger boys got old enough to come along. He enjoyed helping them learn how to set up camp and the safest way to be in in the woods hunting. His favorite time was around the campfire in the evening, all talking about their day. Mike had always wanted to go to Alaska. He got to go with his brother-in-law a few years back. They went on a fishing trip to Sitka. He had the best time and loved talking about the huge Halibut they caught. Mike had 4 younger brothers all who loved sports as much as he did. They grew up in Halsey and played ball at Central Linn. Mike went out for football, basketball, and track. He threw a javelin and broke many records. He got the opportunity to go to the Nationals in 1969 and he placed third. All the boys played in a basketball game in Mike's junior year. This game got a bit of attention. He was very proud of that and their little bit of fame. Mike's coach Mr. Hatfield was a great influence on him. They continued their friendship well beyond the school years. He made life-long friendships in school that he kept throughout his life. Mike was very proud of his family. He looked forward to the yearly BBQs at his brother's house each 4th of July. This was the time all the siblings tried to get together and get caught up with each other. Getting to see the new babies that came that year and how big everyone was getting. He wanted to be the first one there and the last to leave. Mike enjoyed watching his Oregon Ducks play ball and he enjoyed watching his westerns with his favorite actor John Wayne. Mike also worked at a job he loved. His boss Don and his co-workers became family to him. He was very happy and proud to be working at Tradewinds Transportation. Mike will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
