Trina Hewitt, 78, passed away Friday with family by her side.
Trina was born in Bend, Texas, to Edith and Cecil Lewis. She lived in Texas on the family farm in her early years, and moved to Oregon as a teenager where she meet her first husband Claron "Sonny" Lute. Together they had three children, Creed, Nick and Trina. They later divorced. In 1998 she married Gary Hewitt. Gary passed away in January of 1999.
Trina liked to read and play cards, dice and dominoes, but enjoyed spending time with her family most of all - especially her great-grandchildren.
Trina worked for many years at the Safeway in Albany. At one time she owned her own ceramic shop and restaurant in Brookings.
Tina is survived by her sister, Neda Lorraine; sons Creed Lute and wife Angie, and Nick Lute and wife Sue; daughter Trina Buhl and husband Bill; grandchildren Alishia, Amber, Ashley, Nick, Anthony, Ben, Nick and Wynter; 13 great-grandchildren and her best friend, Shirley Abeyta.
A viewing will be from 10 a.m. to noon today at Aasum-Dufour Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow the viewing at 1 p.m. in the chapel at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 2:25 p.m. at Willamette Memorial Park.
