Veneeta W. Windom, 83, of Tangent died Jan. 1, 2012, at her home.
She was born on Dec. 13, 1928, in Corvallis to Alva and Anna (Webb) Govier. She attended school in Corvallis, graduating in 1946. She married Carl Wesley Windom in 1947, and had five children. They divorced after 21 years of marriage. Veneeta worked for 25 years as a custodian at Oregon State University. In her spare time, she loved flower gardening. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Corvallis.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her sister, Virginia.
Surviving her are her sons, John Windom and wife, Patricia, of Canby, Thomas of Tangent, and George of Corvallis; daughters, Theresa Niemczak and husband, Walter, of Corvallis, and Loraine of Tangent; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A Mass will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Please send donations to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice, in lieu of flowers.
